Red Door opened in 1970, in response to an increasing number of emergency room visits for sexual health care. We’ve provided specialized care ever since. Today Red Door is the largest HIV and STD clinic in Minnesota and a landmark for health care services in Hennepin County.
We welcome everyone 12 years of age and older.
Our nurses and nurse practitioners are specially trained to identify and treat sexually transmitted infections. Staff recommend the right tests and treatment based on a careful review of your sexual health.
We provide a supportive and welcoming place where you can get the information and services you need without feeling judged. Our staff follow the strictest confidentiality guidelines so you feel safe and can talk openly about your sexual health. We listen, treat you with kindness and answer all your questions. Staff are sex-positive, and advocate for your sexual health.
We treat you and give you medicine in the clinic. You can come in for condoms and lube, or exchange needles and works, without an appointment.
We want you to stay healthy for your lifetime. We offer routine STD testing, birth control, immunization, needle exchange, support groups, condoms, lube, and more.
We were among the first clinics in Minnesota to offer PrEP, a daily pill that helps protect against HIV infection, and we continue to offer the newest and best testing and treatments.
Our HIV prevention program for men who have sex with men received a national award from the National Association of County and City Health Officials.
Clinics nationwide look to Red Door for our expertise and best practices.
We offer education and testing throughout the Twin Cities, on request. We offer support groups for people living with HIV.
We provide confidential options for getting your results. You can call our nurse line or check your MyChart account. We don’t send bills to your home. We don’t tell anyone that you’ve been to our clinic.
